The trouble with upgrading, the ripple in the stream turns into a wave.

Ever since purchasing the Hifiman He1000V2 Stealth's, I got this lovely buzz and I wanted to get very best out of it, so I upgraded my Singxer SA-1 to Gustard H26 headphone amp, the buzz got louder, I need to hear the sound through CD player, so I got SMSL PL150, the buzz won't go away, so now I decided to upgrade the existing Mogami XLR quad balance cables to Swiss Gotham quad balance cable and the Chord RCA cabling I replaced with PCOCC Japanese single 14 AWG α (Alpha) Conductor (2.04 sq.mm) crystal cables.

I hope the wave has subsided! 🙂

no 2/6 but you really can't compalin about something for 2 units for less then the price of a new cd or dvd with shipping compared to my favorite brand isoacoustics for around 80-90 euros

So what's wrong with cables you already have?
I have one very old RCA connected to my headphone Amp the one Fiio supplied seemed loose so I used one I had I have another one from the same make brand year that has failed so to be safe I thought I would replace it.
The headphone extension cable is to replace a very cheap one thought the B&WS deserve a little better thats all.

when this drops in price i will get it

I'm still hoping my Quad pre- and power amp from 1989 will finally die so I can justify buying something new 🙂. I haven't heard anything newer that's worth the investment. Yes, there are some better amps, but the improvement is not worth thousands of euros. but the money is standing-by to get to the shop when it's needed.

Don't you have grand children that can inherit it while you are still here to see them enjoy it ?

I'm in a weird and new position where I have absolutely no urge to improve anything in either system.

The headphone setup just works like a charm, and the downstairs main system suits the way we as a family listen to music. Either daughter is quite confident streaming or putting on a record, and my Luddite wife has mastered all formats through it - streaming radio, Tidal, Spotify and vinyl.

So: watch me buy something in 2026 😆

Maybe just tweak up a little, like I've done. The Gotham XLR cables replacing the Mogami ones, had improved the sound a little or maybe it's placebo! 😂
Look at these bad boys!
I think that's my spending done 2026!

I got myself one of those power cable risers. Nicely built, made from metal, has brass spikes on the base and weighty.

I'm not sure I understand the sonic merits and the need to raise power cables from the floor, I saw

another use for it, and it's perfect!
It stops the cable from resting on my keyboard, as per photo. Considering the quality, £12.49 was a reasonable price.

I’m forever getting this thread the wrong way round. Anyways, recent game-changer: Teac washi paper anti-static turntable mat. It’s only 1mm or so thick, popped it on top of the Linn felt mat & I’m finally able to flip records over without the mat coming with it.

Perfect, if a bit ugly.
