So hot man!

I've ordered Ice Making Machine from Temu 😂 Nice for juices, herbal tea, cocktail. You may ask, what has this got to do with HiFi?
Everything and Nothing.
With this ghastly hot weather we've been experiencing, you need to be suitably chilled, when you listen to your favourite music.
I have your mental wellbeing at heart! 😎

If you insist upon the acoustic relevance, the fan makes a nice whirling sound, followed by whoosh whoosh.

There's one in the door of our fridge-freezer. Our teenagers are obsessed with it.

Ice maker & boiling water tap are two things I never thought I’d ever desire, and yet when I got them they changed my life forever. Then I split up with my partner. So now I get to spend every morning & every hot day living in a complex form of masochistic regret.

P.s. I finally purchased a cd player because my NAS doesn’t bring me joy when I stream the ripped CDs that I still have the physical media of.

Really sorry about the last bit on the first paragraph but nice you treated yourself to a new CD player, what you buy? 🙂

Update:
I've seen your other post - Cyrus CDT this week for £200. Excellent!

Next purchase? Most likely a Sound card for the computer (internal) with Digital output, either Toslink or Coaxial, and a reasonable DAC to bypass the minor SNR issues of streaming music from the computer to the Amp. Then who knows? (alright a major upgrade of the turntable). but lets get the first issue sorted.

Don't bother with a soundcard, use USB to connect directly to your DAC. Buy a DAC that has an asynchronous USB input, so the DAC takes care of timing. 'Tis how I connect to my PC.

Thank you for this, but personally, USB is not an option as ports are at premium due to my Videography/Photography needs. I think I have a good option to reduce the SNR noise through the current setup of using the 2.5mil/ RCA to amp cable that has low level interference, and that is a dedicated digital out via the sound card, avoiding the current circuits that the signal is currently going through. If I could release a USB port, then that would be ideal.

Ok, does your motherboard have an optical spdif output on the back IO panel? If it has onboard sound, it probably will do.

Thanks Jason - the moving out bit was my choice. So I live a life of the unenlightened having to use a kettle to make coffee and a freezer for ice cubes #prayforme 😁

Sadly not. The B450 has everything bar optical out. It does have 5.1 out, but not optical. Shame really as it would make life so much easier.
Update. Something very interesting has occurred. I dug out my lengths of Gale XL160-2 speaker cable that I have for over 20 years and only just got from storage. Plugged them into my Aura amp and Tannoy speakers, replacing the 12 gauge Copper/Aluminium Chinese made cable off Amazon (it is pretty good I may add). but the difference is incredible! Now, I looked at cable from a electrical perspective, thicker cable, cable length etc etc and resistance. But having plugged my old Gale cable in, the sound is cleaner, tighter bass, treble is more upbeat, and more importantly, that SNR interference from the computer for streaming appears to be much reduced. I certainly did not expect that! Will be interesting after a week. but initial thoughts are very revealing.

I got from Amp3 50w linear power supply PL50 for my FiiO K11 R2R DAC.

These normally retail for about £140.
Retailer Advance mp3 players have a stock of these with damaged boxes and have reduced it to £99.
Nice led display 🙂

Four of my rooms have separate HiFi setups, yes I think I can tick this off my bucket list 😂
