Black and Blue - The Stones

The Hissing Of Summer Lawns - Joni Mitchell

Talking Heads 77

George Shearing In Concert

Through The Past, Darkly (Mono) - The Stones

Levitate - The Fall

I see your Stones phase continues apace, Charlie. And why not? I don't know if you have a copy, but 'Sucking In The 70's', a compilation lp, is well worth getting; it may be a compilation but it holds together brilliantly as a record and is one of my favourite Sones records from that mid to late 70's period. It's got 'Everything Is Turning To Gold' on it too which is wonderful.

A mono 'Through The Past, Darkly' ! Briliant stufff!

'The Hissing Of Summer Lawns' is apparently Prince's favourite record. Along with 'Court And Spark', I think it's the pinnacle of a very distinguished career. Lovely songs; brilliant playing.

Are you actually listening to your singles in alphabetical order now, BigBern?

*biggrin*

Not quite. I'd just finished listing all of my records on a spreadsheet, and decided to play some of the singles, but I had to look at the spreadsheet to remember which ones I'd played.

Are you satisfied with my answer, or would you like a little more detail? *biggrin*

Today I played my first ever brand new vinyl record.

A Noel Gallagher 12" single, If I had a gun/ AKA what a life remix.

I think the remix is the most poorly mastered track I've ever heard, terrible distortion and no dynamic range at all. No music I own sounds this bad for sound quality including all of my 90's indie stuff.

Today before and after the rugby

Finley Quaye - Mavercik A Strike

Lana Del Rey - Ultraviolence

Everything But The Girl - Eden

Ben Watt - Hendra

Oasis - (WTS) MG

Nitin Sawhney - Prophesy

Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark - The Best of OMD

would have been better missing the rugby, men against boys, and carried on listening to the music, much more pleasure and never disappoints!

I didn't geddit, but as long as my previous comment didn't cause offence, that's fine.

No offence taken. In my original post, I was actually mocking myself for giving more detail than was probably needed, hence the big grins and the 'Do you want more detail' line.

Ah, that's my fault, then, because I've disabled smileys (hate 'em) so I wasn't sure whether you were joking or not. Glad it's OK!

Was going to listen to my new records today, but my stylus is making unpleasant noises, so will have to check it out first so I don't ruin anything. Bring on that Nag, Mr Postman!
