My system sound has improved vastly since I placed the speakers on top of plastic chopping boards and moved them further from the rear wall.
I think that previously the spikes were penetrating the carpet but not touching the concrete floor.
It's a different system now and I'm very pleased.
I'm re-listening to all my albums and enjoying their 'newness/difference'.
I've also lashed out and ordered an Arcam Power Amp, which should improve the listening experience even more
