"Universal Port for Single-Cable
Connection of Optional Onkyo Dock for
the iPod

The TX-SR607 features a proprietary universal port,
located on the rear side of the unit, to which you
can connect Onkyo's Dock for the iPod. The dock
sends both video and audio signals through a single
cable. Earlier versions of Onkyo's Dock for the
iPod can be connected via our Remote Interactive
(RI) system."

I assume it means the port will be used for connecting other devices, too, using different adaptors having a common connection to the receiver.

Bit like Sony's DM Port, in other words...

The port will also be used to add Dab Radio although I don't why they just don't include Dab. All manufacturers support USA satellite radio which we will get one day.

The port can be daisy chained.

£500 rrp.

Hope they include a nice flashy gui.

I wonder how much the ethernet models will be for firmware updating and net radio.

Still not a beauty contest winner like the new 2009 Sony or Pioneer av amps which look similar.

Thanks for clarifying this in the latest WHFS&V mag, so it's for connecting ipod/iphone dock or as Gort1951 say's a optional module like the UP-DTi DAB+ tuner.
