Had a friend that raved about his magnificent "pub purchased speakers" that he'd had for several years ... popped round to listen to them, took about 5 seconds to work out they were out of phase . He was delighted with the improvement when reconnected in phase. Still sounded awful, but he was happier.

Turns out the pub purchased speakers were not all shifty or knock offs ..... there's a totally legitimate outfit in the UK that target pub users by selling speakers from the back of a truck with brand names that sound posh ..... all above board, its just their marketing method!
