Hey

You guys said the MA BR5 dont exite as others for cheaper and only got 4 stars.

What would you say is a better floorstander for cheaper?

QUOTE:The BR5s are still great, but since their launch other speakers have come along that offer greater excitement for a little less money.

I am upgrading and adding stuff to demo, and the BR5's are a lot cheaper than the RX6 so might be a contender.

Thanks guys

IIRC, it was a combination of the KEF iQ5SE as a floorstanding option and the B&W 685 as standmount rival that knocked the MAs down from their original five-star rating.

Worth noting that a new Monitor Audio Bronze series is on its way soon....

Meant to say thanks before the cut.

From what I have seen MA reduce almost by half if a new model comes out.

Will await your review for the BX series.

c-cam drivers in the new BX series.... Amazing, with the Hive as well.

Will see if if the RX6 is worth the extra 250.00 or not

They are on track I think for a product of the year, with the upgrades and the price.

Nice 1 clare.

If I do decide on the BX range, and get the fronts, rears and centre in place of what I have, can I use the BR1 as surrounds and wall mount them, as cant use stands, due to my sofa being a l shape.

Thanks again, oh and just seen magnetic grilles, sweet looking better and better, they are like the old rs range

I'm not sure if you could get wallmount brackets to take them, but the BR2 may be better up against a wall as they are front ported; the BR1s are rear ported.

I have found that some rear ported speakers don't have any issues upagainst the wall, but it can cause bass boominess, which can be curtailed by bunging the ports.

There is also the BRFX dipole speakers, which are designed for wall mounting, though these give a more diffused sound.

I tried the RSFX and because my room layout they were not good at all, even asked MA to have a look at my room, and they said the RSFX were not a good choice and forwarded me to the HD series.

I agree with this and the comments on this site from others, the sound was not as good, so sent them back and kept my MA alumni, and they are so much better for me.

The bX2 will be too big to wall mount I would have thought.
