what audio connecter to use

i have just had sky hd installed and was wondering what would be the best cable to use for the sound when connecting to my av reciever i have the choice of digital optical or digital coaxial. which is best. any ideas.

Sky HD doesn't have a digital coax out. You'll need to use optical and get a converter if you have no optical ins on the receiver spare.

i have the latest pace hd box and it has got digital coaxial out. i have had sound playing through both digital outputs of the sky box.

Ah didn't know that. In that case coax is the safer bet.

cool, i just get very similar sound through both, but one has got to better than the other. i'll give coaxial a try for a bit. cheers m8.

When all's said you probably won't hear any difference. There is just chance of error in an optical cable due to internal jitter.
