Saw a clip of it on tv, the girl in the hollywood version looks like an office worker in fancy dress, awful.

I know a lot of people don't like subtitled films, but I'm positive, this is the way to go for these films. Noomi Rapace is just awesome throughout the 3 films, and I really think you need the natural language soundtrack to be able to immerse yourself in these films .

Try it, you never know, it might open up a whole world of cinema to you

EDIT: And I've just noticed you've been watching The Killing (with subtitles), and you liked it

I will take your advice and when we watch The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest we will subtitle it.
The Killing II has been good even with subtitles. It's not improved by Danish though, absolutely clueless.
Are the Scandinian languages difficult to learn?

As someone who has only managed to learn around 10 words of Japanese throughout my near 8 year marraige to a Japanese lady, I would say, YES.

Isn't "Played with fire" next in the trilogy?

Yes, but we've already seen it. It's the best of the 3 books but the film was not as good as the first.

Yes, I thought "Fire" was the worst of the 3 films, "Hornet's" is definitely better.

The Danish original, season 1.

Very long, but very addictive. Loads of twists and turns.

We've watched 10 episodes, and 10 to go.

Recommended viewing.

Agreed.

Have you been watching The Killing 2?

Half the length, just as addictive.

Just finished watching the last two episodes. Fabulous. Not sure I fully understand every single twist and turn, but fabulous all the same.

Series 1 of Spaced.

Plenty of film references, reminders of children's TV, and great music (mostly from the Warp label). If you like Shaun Of The Dead, you have to watch this!

Finally finished watching the first season last night with a 4 hour marathon.

Let me just say, I don't usually watch anything like this, no 24, no The Wire etc etc, but I found this series completely engrossing.

I think at 20 episodes, it was a little long, but it really is a gripping piece of tv. There were still a couple of questions unanswered for us, but we probabaly just missed them in the occasionally fast moving subtitles, and it hasn't ruined our enjoyment one bit.

I don't know how many times my wife and I said "It's definitely him", only for us to be completely wrong again.

Will buy the season 2 box set when the prices come down, as I missed the first 2 or 3 episodes on BBC4.

Recommended viewing, and the season 1 box set can now be had for £17.99 from play and amazon.

I hope you enjoyed it, sounds like I made you

Timecrimes on Film 4 late tonight is an excellent, low-budget, time travel movie.

Spanish though, so more subtitles I'm afraid. Seriously good though.

Episode 7 of series 1 of the complete 3 series of "Ashes to Ashes" that I got on DVD as a present.

("You are surrounded by armed b######s" and "...let's fire up the Quattro" etc.)

Stoke City v Aston Villa. Much, much more out of blind (and mostly deaf and mute) loyalty rather than any hope or expecatation of entertainment (or even the right result).

I've also got this on in the bedroom, watching it for about the 100th time in 10 years. Last night was the best episode, the Resident Evil/ Performance Art one (episode 3).

Brian: "Do you think I should lose the waistcoat?"

Tim: "I think you should burn it, 'cos if you lose it, you might find it again".

Watched M.I:4 on Tuesday night (we wanted to see the new Sherlock Holmes, but Lakeside was crazy with traffic and we got there too late). Have to say I think it's the best M.I since the first one.

An awesome film, just as good as I remember from the cinema.

Will try to track down the original from 1963.

I've watched two great - and one lousy - sci-fi movies in the past few days.

First was Super 8, which i'd somehow missed until now. Really enjoyed it - shows you don't need big-name stars to deliver an engaging film. And the soundtrack's a stormer, too!

Then came Cowboys and Aliens on Blu-ray, which was another stonker. Much, much better than i thought it would be - and with the added bonus (lord bless the costume department) of Daniel Craig packed into chaps throughout.

Finally we come to last night's fare: the third Transformers movie. I guess I should've known better after the shambles of the second movie, but in comparison that was Oscar-worthy. What an absolute stinker! And gorgeous though she is, Rosie thingambob is no actress; again, in comparison Megan Fox is a veritable Meryl Streep...

Loyalty to who

Mr Lucas is a Villa supporter. And hey, they got a point :)
