Its a fantastic recording and has already become one of my favourite Shostakovich recordings. The sound quality does it justice too. The BBC Music discs are frequently superb and worth the cover price on their own. I've been collecting them since volume 3.

I was initially disappointed that after two excellent slightly fantasy/historical based prog albums Arena`s third had a much more modern style. Thankfully it`s great and if you like a good guitar solo then you really should have a listen to John Mitchell`s blistering guitar work that closes the album on the title track.
Another action soundtrack, this one from Danny Elfman. There is an excellent mix of orchestra and sound effects.....
Now a more classical soundtrack by Michael Nyman. The tracks Chasing Sheep and Dreams of a Journey should be familiar. It sounds like the Portico Quartet/Penguine Cafe Orchestra/Philip Glass on speed......
