Big Chris:Much to my Wife's embaressment, we were blasting
out of her car, on our way out last night. Classic!
Hi Big Chris! Just wanted to ask if you own `Pyromania`? `Pyro` was my first love from Def Leppard and I liked it so much that when `Hysteria` came out I was actually a little disappointed. Doesn`t mean it`s not a great album though. I liken these two albums to AC/DC`s `Highway To Hell` and `Back In Black`. 6/7 out of 10 would go for `Back` though I`m more of a `Highway` man myself.
Quick bit of rock trivia coming up... Def Leppard can consider themselves a little unlucky not to have had two massive number one albums in the states back in the `80`s. `Pyromania` was released the same time as Michael Jacksons `Thriller` and `Hysteria` released at the same time as Michael Jacksons `Bad` album. They both spent a long time at no.2 behind MJ. Guess they didn`t learn their lesson second time around! All the best Big Chris.
Pyromania has always been my fave album. Hysteria is actually the last D.L album I've bought (Also have 'On Through The Night' & 'High & Dry'). I think the sound they crafted for Hysteria is all down to Rick Allen's unfortunate accident. They had to forego the pacey rock for a more polished pop orientated sound, but hats off to them for carrying on through such a difficult time.
Nothing they've done since has particularly interested me.
