A rare foray into this thread for me and it's a big occasion, Susanne Sondfør - Ten Love Songs. Ignore the title, it's nothing much like what that suggests, what it is is possibly the finest electro pop album I've heard in a long time, maybe ever, I can't think of anything else to match it right now. It's also the most bonkers, with random excursions into church organ interludes, harpsichord reprises and a 5 minute orchestral piece dropped into the middle of a track for no apparent reason. Whatever, it's stunning, some of the most gorgeous synth sounds and basslines I've heard in some time.

It must be good, it's made me do something I haven't done in years, listen to the whole album all the way through more than once, on my way home will be my fourth listen on the bounce...

Ah, good, I was hoping someone else would know of her, are the other albums as good, I'd read that the previous album is somewhat darker?

Yes they do have a slightly darker feel to them but they are equally as captivating, bordering on addictive .

For some great electro pop. Try

Feathers - If all Now Here. It's on Spotify, but I had to search by album title on Sonos

according to my Spotify stats it was my most listened to album last year. I first saw them supporting Depeche Mode, probably the best (never heard of them before) support act I've seen.

No easy ride with this cacophony of euphoric noise terror, but sure worth it, from Benjamin John Power (one half of the venerable F*ck Buttons), a left-field and deliciously dark slice of electronica. Think Orbital and Jon Hopkins being stalked by Aphex Twin.

This week ( when the Grinch has been out )

I've been veering between the raucous majesty of the latest Killing Joke album 'Pylon', the freebie EP the Foo Fighters released online 'Saint Cecillia'...

The stunning solo 2LP ( with a band ) of the Marillion guitarist Steve Rothery 'The Ghosts of Pripyat'. Also, Steve Hackett guests...

& probably the best 2LP the near octogenarian, Roy Harper has made in 15 years 'Man & Myth'. Stunning.

I am listening to Brittish country singer (yes there is such a thing) Charlie Landsborough album Nothing lasts forever. Some of you from Ireland may remember him from his mid 90's number one song What colour is the wind (which is a great song). This is a really good album. I got two DVD concerts free with this album which is very nice bonus.

Everything from Jeff Waynes War of the Worlds to Floyds Division bell, with some Sea of Bees thrown in for good measure. ...might give Bladerunner a blast later.. ..or the Doors.. ..
