The New Seekers - `Songbook 1970-74` Dble CD.

A great day to play the track `It`s A Beautiful Day` which was the B-side to `Look What They`ve Done To My Song Ma` and was also on the groups second album. I love discovering/rediscovering little pop gems like this. By the mid 1970`s The New Seekers fortunes were on the wane and when Abba came along I all but forgot about them. Been revisiting their back catalogue over the last couple of years and it seems I may have dropped them a little prematurely.

Some minimalism

Abba - `Voulez Vous` CD with bonus tracks.

A blast from the Super Swedes themselves. The mighty Abba with what is widely regarded as the bands disco album. This 2002 remaster adds weight to that by adding some cracking extra tracks which are the hit singles `Summer Night City` and `Gimme Gimme Gimme` plus `Lovelight` originally a B-side to one of the singles out in 1979 and it`s a smashing little atmospheric pop song which I always felt should have been included on the original release in place of `Lovers Live A Little Longer`.That would have strengthened the album. Still. Talking of 1979, hard to believe that during the course of that year Abba released five singles and not one of them went to number one!

Minimalist influenced, highly original brass and woodwind by Colin Stetson, bass saxophonist who has played with acts as diverse as Arcade Fire, Sinead O'Connor and David Byrne.

US Guitarist Ben Chasny with the band Six Organs of Admittance and the album is Dark Noontide. Deep, experimental, psychedellic rock.

Kate Bush - `This Woman`s Work-Anthology 1978-90` Eight CD box set.

Instead of just dabbling here and there I`m going to go through each album in release order for a change. Really pleased I bought this when it was released because it`s very expensive trying to pick up a copy nowadays I`ve noticed. It contains the first six studio albums plus two discs of rarities.
