Martin Grech, 'Unholy'. One of the most spinetingly, powerful and atmospheric albums I have ever heard...
Prog/metal/ambient.
It was a miss for me. I love 'Open Heart Zoo' and 'March for the lonely', but 'Unholy' was a mess, to my ears. BTW, he was dropped by his record label, so is now producing his stuff indepently. He has just released his first independent album, 'Meta' through his official Facebook page.
I'm with Ian here. I really like 'Open Heart Zoo', but 'Unholy' edges it.
I haven't heard any of his other stuff though.
'March of the Lonely' is Martin's stripped back to basics record. Just his voice and a guitar. Shows of his superb range brilliantly.
He's such a talented guy, it's unbelievble that his record label dropped him. He was only 19 when 'Open Heart Zoo' came out! It's crazy that a boy of 19 could write such a complex, multi-layered record. I hope he gets the success he deserves, now he's doing it on his own.
