chebby:
Somewhere in the instructions for all your equipment (and printed on the back of the equipment near the mains socket) there should be recommended fuse ratings.
Failing that, look at the fuse in the plug the manufacturer provided and always replace with the same rating or email/telephone the manufacturer and ask.
This is a safety issue and if you ever had to make a related insurance claim you do not want to be telling them that you took advice from an internet forum rather than the manufacturer.
Chebby I awaiting the day when I can afford home insurance (at the moment the British Gas payments team are to busy grilling my butt to be able to take on another d/d), it is a sad thing to admit but if anything happens to me like it did to Joelsim then I shall have to wipe my soot covered face of tears and start again.
By the way can anyone tell me if Nordost have started manufacturing 'hi-fi fuses' made fron 99.999% silver and magnetically shielded??? I was hoping to ramp the price of my new fuses from a few pence to a couple of hundred pounds... (Edit: Joelsim I swear I wrote this before I read your post - it is coincidence not me being an annoying @#*? - although I admit to that too)
