What 5.1 Speakers to Partner SR605?

Hi everyone,

I'm fairly new to the world of "proper" AV equipment, so I could use some advice. Essentially, I've come into possession of an Onkyo TX-SR605 AVR (the original owner is emigrating to New Zealand!!) and I'm wondering what 5.1 speakers would suit it?

I'll be using the set-up mainly for PC gaming and blu-ray movies, with some music listening for good measure. I've read the reviews for various speaker packages like the Wharfedale DX-1HCP and Tannoy HTS101, but what other speakers should I be auditioning?

I should point out that I need the FL and FR to be bookshelf speakers, the room they're going into is just under 4m x 4m, and my budget is about £500.

hi both are good.i prefered the tannoys,but if you can aford it i would go for the q acoustics at £600 or if thats to much cambridge audio minx at £500.i got the minx in the end love them

I might be able to stretch the budget somewhat, but either way, I'll get a demo of the Q Acoustics (I assume) 2000l series...

Are the 2000 and 1010i just older models?
