Were do I put my MCACC Mic?

I was wondering were to put it, the guy from pioneer on you tube looked a little happy, but he put it on the back of the sofa were the headrest was, is this true?

Sorted now, put on the sofa... LOL

No wonder I have not been getting amazing sound, I put it on a kids bench in the middle of the room

I read somewhere to screw it to a tripod to make it firm on the ground near where your head will be. wondered what the female thread in the bottom of the Mike was for. could'nt be bothered with that so I did what you did

Never had a good amp like this before, new to it all.

I thought it was for the centre of the room to make sure............. Well I am not sure.. LOL

Should get better sound now, will do a re-test when the kids go to bed.

Putting it on the back of the sofa is fine, except for two situations. One is if the sofa is right up against a wall - your head will more likely be half a foot more forward of the wall - the closer the mic is to the wall, the more drastically the setup is going to change, and could be completely wrong. The other, is if it's placed an a lear sofa - the mic will pick up reflected higher frequencies of leather sofa's. If you do this, place a towel or something over the back of the sofa first.
