Hi bigboss

So far I've found the sound to be loud, boomy and soft

Reference - I don't think so.

Interesting thought. I pay my cleaner £10 a hour to do something I don't want to do, so £20 would not be enough for me to sit through Grace of Monaco or any Michael Bay nonsense. I guess I would do it for £50 if they threw in a bottle of wine to numb the pain. Any other things that people would need to be paid to do that others would do for fun? For example, there is no sum of money high enough that would get me to fly in the Virgin Galactic.

their expectations were higher for Atmos
Due to the ceiling speakers? ;-)

They just said that the sound track was as good as the Dolby True HD soundtrack with a little bit extra, but even in these earlier days they had heared better Atmos effects in the Atmos demo trailers.

Personally I thought it sounded pretty good. But that's the sound quality and not the dialogue ;)

Think my ceiling speakers comment may have gone over your head. ;-)

Watched it last night and pretty impressed to be honest. The picture and sound as always really impressive, and the movie wasn't bad. I'd recommend it.

I've now got Transformers 1-3 Blu-Rays going spare if anyone wants them? Message me on AVForums with your address and I will post them to you free. I'm the Thegelman on there.

They are bloody terrible movies, but I do seem to have a juvenile fascination with robots fighting. Quite enjoyed tbh.

i wish Michael bay would work in partnership with other directors, he's obviously talented at action sequences but awful at everything else.

there was some rather excessive artificial film noise in the picture in places, annoying.

Yep, Optimus Prime just kicks ass! I do really like him!

Check your AVR and subwoofer settings, and room acoustics. ;)

Hi bigboss

Heard TF4 with various AVR's, AVP's/power amps, loudspeakers/subwoofers and in different rooms and still find the soundtrack to be loud, boomy, and soft. Just noise

Sound quality aside, I'll be avoiding this one ike the plague. I was setting up a system last week, and just popped it on to give the system a test - it was the most awful 5 minutes of film making I've ever seen.

As good as the soundtrack is, the characters are absolutely loathsome.

This is for me Michael Bays biggest flaw. The characters he portrays are perhaps people that he's be impressed by, but for most 'normal' people they are arrogant, hateful and irritating.

i couldn't care less if they live or die :)
