Wall mounted turntable shelf - how stable?

I am considering a HIFI Racks Podium turntable shelf to

solve a positioning problem I have. I understand that the shelf

itself is quite good, but does anyone have such a shelf fixed to a

plasterboard wall (at best a wooden upright behind the p/board)?

Is the considered wisdom that only brick is stable enough?

My speakers will be close to the same piece of wall (no sub in use

for stereo music). At present the TT is on a table next to the RH speaker.

Any advice welcome.

I guess that would really depend what you were going to put on it. Cannot see a TT in your sig.
What weight do you intend to put on it? You should certainly ensure you find a 'wooden upright' to fix it to rather than the plasterboard itself.

Thanks Alears - the wooden upright would be my preferred option,

as long as it is where I think it is! If not I'm in schtuck.

The Rega RP3 / Elys 2 cartridge will be going on the shelf.

You could try drylinepro, their fixings held my near 40 kg plasma on a dot and dab wall with no problem at all

try and get it in the wood and then use "no more nails" and let it dry for 24hours, then it wont budge!!!! Might be hard to get off though hehe.
