Pls. forgive me for my ignorance but have simple question. I have several video connections to my Panasonic projector for e.g. Xbox component, Freeview S-video, 2 DVD Players HDMI.

Now because of these connection I have to keep all sources close to beamer but with new TV shortly coming I am looking for neat solution. Is there any receiver like Onlyo 605 or 875 can connect all these sources and then I can run single HDMI to my projector and switch video via AV reciever. Also can this AV receiver do upscaling of all sources ? How about Sound can I connect all sources to receiver via mix of Optical, HMDI and RCAs and switch together with video at same time.

Appreciate your help in resolving my headache of sorting these boxes.

Hi there,

Yup, the Onkyo 875 is the one you want. It has 4x HDMI inputs, 3x component inputs, 6x S-Video and 6x composite inputs for video and it will upscale all of these and switch them as required via one HDMI output. It also has 3x digital optical, 3x digital coaxial inputs and I think 9x analogue RCA (or phono) inputs but so you should be covered!
