Possibly to put your fags and matches on when you are listening to music. My Marantz amp doesn't have them on.

I will get to find out. I have read on other forums about the covers and people say that their amplifier has them on but nobody can give an explanation as to what purpose they serve.

That top one looks like something someone might have used as a base to take a smaller component on top.
(With the intention to block rising heat 🤔)

I did wonder if its some sort of heat plate ! very Mysterious why are they diffrent sizes both on the same side of the Amps.So Curious ! would you not want too let the heat out and not block it too keep the Amp cool...mmmm

My pm6006 has one. You can clearly see one on the image of pm6007 in the review on this site. No idea what it is for.

Candles and vases full of water found their way into old style TV sets - but these partial covers wouldn't prevent such ingress....

This is one of the reasons I don't get what they are for, the plastic sheet has all the vents cut in it too. 🤷

Glad im not the only one ! they have been baffling me for years ..very odd.I noticed they are always on the input switch side on all Brands.
