Always a good idea to ask the manufacturer...
For decades I've owned amps that have got just as hot.Now we know
🤣For decades I've owned amps that have got just as hot.
Without the plastic pieces 😱.....I count myself lucky to have survived.
Thank you Europe for protecting me in the future.

I thought as much.I believe it’s something to do with European fire hazard safety regulations. God knows how it helps, though.
To protect children from touching 'hot' casework?......in which case, probably more necessary on radiators.God knows how it helps……
Which is presumably why the first page or two of the manual/handbook lists things like:- don’t operate this amplifier in a bathroom, and don’t clean it with petrol!! 😕Unfortunately the world is full of idiots that governments feel they need to protect from themselves*
Personally I feel the gene pool would benefit from allowing them to become potential winners of the Darwin Award 😀😉
*remember if legislation exists it's almost certainly coz said idiots have previously done what it's trying to prevent...
Indeed, but it’s almost unbelievable.Always a good idea to ask the manufacturer...
I was talking about this thread and your comment with my son on the way home tonight and he just said, like that meme;Unfortunately the world is full of idiots that governments feel they need to protect from themselves*

Something not adding up with that statement, its not even covering the heat sink. But it does cover the transformer in its entirety.
Presumably, it does enough to satisfy EU law though.Something not adding up with that statement, its not even covering the heat sink. But it does cover the transformer in its entirety.
How many Class A amps are sold in department stores? The are only sold in "specialty stores" and probably this is what makes a difference. Japanese brands produce stereos and AVRs in way larger quantities and need more outlets to sell them.No class A amps have these installed, all get fair fair hotter.
If you were listening at twice the distance and your speakers were a pair of Harberths, it probably would. My PM6006 case is likely to exceed 70C? Really?
At least I now know how to keep my coffee warm when listening to my tunes.
Luke the 1980's Sinclair zx81 computer, they actually recommended putting a bottle of milk on top to act as a heat sink🤣If you were listening at twice the distance and your speakers were a pair of Harberths, it probably would.
If it's EU law it doesn't matter where the item is sold. How many Class A amps are sold in department stores? The are only sold in "specialty stores" and probably this is what makes a difference. Japanese brands produce stereos and AVRs in way larger quantities and need more outlets to sell them.
I dont have a Hampster would love a dog though.I think it may have already been mentioned, these are heat protection for fingers or the hamster to warm its bum on a cold winter day.
