I'm in posession of a full, working but old
hi-fi system, purchased new in the early nineties. The parts are:

Amp: Kenwood KA-5020

CD player: Kenwood DP-2030

Speakers: Says "Paradigm 'mini-monitor' high-definition speaker system"
on the back.

Speakers have metal stands.

I'd like to know the value of such an old system (the audio sounds great
to me, as good as the day it was purchased new I imagine, but I don't
know how well old stereo systems age, by which I mean how well it would
stand up to a modern, newly purchased equivilent system [assuming
stereo, there's no surround on this]).

Someone has offered me an upfront amount for it and I've no idea whether
I'd be crazy to accept, or crazy to turn it down in favour of hanging
onto it for a better price; I don't know whether the system is gold or
junk. I won't say how much was offered yet just in case it subliminally
affects what price tag anyone might attach to it. But I'd like
whoever's here, to say what they'd pay for it if they were to really
want it, because I've no idea what its value is. Thank you.

Hi.

From looking online you are looking at between £50-£80 for the amp, £10-£20 for the cd player and £90-£130 for the speakers. Is that in line with your offer?

Sounds about right, anything over £150 for the lot the OP should take.

Hope they don't see THIS thread and revise their offer!! Good luck
