V1C- PQLS Help Or anyone!!

Sorry to get in touch like this....

Had a fettle with my system to try and get the pqls working......but nope couldnt get it to go.

Set the player to "start"in setup mode and the option to use PQLS came up- i clicked on ok

Set the amp- Turned on Kuro link and switched the amp to auto.

Popped in a cd.....No PQLS light came on.

Pqls is used over hdmi isnt it??

Also when i went back to watch sky hd the input selector was all mixed up had to go into the amp settings and reassign the hdmi input and the optical input. I hear this is a common problem??

What settings have you got for Audio out and HDMI on your LX52

Yes PQLS is over HDMI from a CD

Audio out on hdmi set to pcm

only box lit up on audio out menu is dts downmix and it is set to stereo.

In my 51fd the audio out is on DTS Downmix : Stereo

In the HDMI menu HDMI Audio out is on AUTO / PQLS is on AUTO

I would add on the Audio out that Dolby digital out / DTS out / AAC out are greyed out and upon selection say function cannot be used so i take it the player has it mind made up on these already.

What sound mode should i use??- have been using straight stereo.... Not pure direct etc

Now the AMP

in the system setup - other setup - HDMI Control Setup - HDMI Control ON / PQLS Auto

so Player has Hdmi High-speed Transmission - on / HDMI Color space , Audio out , PQLS - all on AUTO and HDMI Control ON

AMP has the above.

With the AMP on BD put a CD in the player and PQLS should just kick in automatically.

Try a multichannel sound mode not stereo

All of the above i have kuro link on my amp it is on...also pressed stop on the cd that is in and pressed play again.... Still nothing.

I think your next course would be to investigate the player , take it to a dealer and see if they can get PQLS on it or get it checked out under warranty. If it's not the player could be the AMP. Not really sure what else to suggest.

Thanks v1c the player bought privately, i have the latest firmware installed in it. Dont know about the amp firmware it may need updating?? It is very odd i am going to see if anyone else has problems.... Do you think the Pioneer Plasma may cause a conflict?? I did ask emporio in the previous thread if he managed to get his settup and he had no probs. Will maybe try my shop.

It is really frustrating as part of the reason it was bought was for the pqls...

No problem John , my instinct would be the Player first see if a dealer will check it for you. I'll be honest though the PQLS isn't really that big a deal i don't even use it
