Using Sony BDP-S570B as external disc spinner for iTunes

Odd request perhaps (or perhaps not), but I'd like to use my Sony BDP S570B as an external disc spinner for ripping discs into iTunes on my MacBook Air. Is that possible through either USB or HDMI? Many thanks for the advice.

Quite simply no.

You need an external DVD rewriter for this (or a CD writer if you can still get one), powered by USB.

There are quite a few models out there, but some of them need 2 USB ports for power, rather than one. That might not be very convenient with a MacBook Air.
