Using a Microphone with my Sony Home Amp

Slightly unusual question for you. I have a Sony DH820 amplifier. I’m hosting a kids disco party for my 2 kids in 3 weeks time. I want to get a microphone to use over the top of the music, to announce party games etc.

Is it simply a case of getting a microphone or what do I need. The music will get played via the amp’s iphone USB connection.

Quite tricky actually - you want to be able to talk over the music sometimes, which means you need a mixer to flip between music and mic (otherwqise you'll be turning music off and mic on and vice versa). You can probably get one for < £30 on the 'Bay, to which you need to add a microphone, cables etc.

You haven't got a friendly DJ locally have you that you could borrow stuff from?
