Used Sony STR-DN1030 or new Denon AVR-X1000 ?

My decade plus old Sony STR-DP930 AV Receiver has died  It’s given great service driving Mission m73 floorstanders, m7ds rears & m7c1 centre. I’m keeping the speakers. They’re 100W 90dB sensitivity. At the time the Sony AV receiver was chosen based on What Hifi 5 star rating & I now see the Sony STR-DN1040 is top rated in price range. Problem is this is out of blue failure & I don’t have budget for STR-DN1040. However I can get the previous model, a STR-DN1030 in budget but it used, not new. For similar money I can get new Denon AVR-X1000. What’s the better option. Used Sony STR-DN1030 or new Denon AVR-X1000 ? Will be connected to 3D capable blu ray & 55” #D LED TV.

i dont know alot about the Denon AVRX 1000 but i have researched the newer Denon AVRX 2000, WHICH ALSO GOT A VERY GOOD REVIEW IN WHAT HI FI why dont you have a look at that i recently got this for £250.00 from richer sounds , still waiting for delivery tomorrow so cant give any feed back yet .

Unfortunately the AVR-X2000 is not an option as here in New Zealand it retails for greater than the Sony STR-DN1040.

AVR-X2000 approx NZ$1400

STR-DN1040 approx NZ$1200

Used STR-DN1030 approx NZ$500

New AVR-X1000 690

Halve those NZ$ to get GBP !!!! i.e. AVR-X2000 = GBP700 & STR-DN1040 GBP600 !!!
