upgrading

After 12yrs i need a upgrade.Can i change my alpha 7cd for cyrus 6 se for now or do i change the lot?

Alpha 8 amp & power amp,Monitor Audio 3 speakers.

One other quicky, whats the best music phone out there?

Bit of a vague post IMO

What would be handy to know is what music do you listen to and what speaker cable and interconnects you use currently?

The Arcam amp pairing is good but theyre dated now; I've owned the 8/8P, 9/9P and 10/10P and there are huge differences between the 8 and 9/10 systems.

Also the Arcam CDP is aged as well and I'd say that, along with your speakers are the main weak links.

What budget have you got and what do YOU feel lets the system down currently and what would you like to upgrade first?

I'd say that adding a new Cyrus SE CDP into that mix currently wouldnt do the system any justice

these cables are so old,cable talk 3.1 bi-wired&interconnects are also cable talk.

Music from classical-James taylor-coldplay-Bats for Lashes .

Budget approx £2.000.

The cd player lets the system down, i should have upgraded ages ago.Also the speakers would be next as they do struggle with some music.

The best music phone out there is the iPhone.

As for your CD player/Amp combo, lots of options out there - I'd be looking at a Roksan/Cyrus/Naim 5i combo and some 500 quid standmounts. or if you fancy splashing out, a NaimUniti...
