daspaceman, having done a quick google on your amp i would be amazed if it couldn't do justice to atc's, it's a bit of a beast. although the atc's are not the most sensitive speakers around, they should be a pretty easy load on an amp because they present a pretty easy impedance load. my moon amp is 100 watts, and in my 8x4 metre room i doubt if i use much more then about half the available volume from it, and given i usually like to jump about headbanging(!) while playing music, unless it's late at night i like to play fairly loud. fyi, in the mags awards issue, they recommend pairing the scm11's with the cyrus 6xp amp which only has 60 watts iirc, hardly a powerhouse! i think most would argue that a dedicated stereo amp is going to give better results then a multi-channel amp, but i wouldn't have thought you need to go mad. the naim power amp that david recommended is also only 60 watt. i think it's more important that you find an amp you like the sound of, rather then worry too much about power output. if i can make a suggestion, it would be to give rick at musicraft an email as he has been selling atc for some time and can explain very well why, slight inefficiency aside, they don't need a shed load of power up them.
