Upgrade time at last!

I liked the Fono mini, and to be fair, it was probably let down a little by the Rega Carbon cart fitted to the Planar 2. For me, the overall package of Fono MkII with the Debut Carbon and 2M Red gave me what I was looking for....

The only problem now is that it's about 6 weeks until I can buy them!!!!

A pity you weren't able to listen to the RP2 with a decent cartridge.

As I've stated recently, dealers care reluctant to demo anything that doesn't come as a package and, unfortunately, these cheaper decks always come fitted with basic cartridges.

No, I am with you. These decks can obviously take a much better cartridge than the ones they come pre-fitted with.

If you still have some weeks left before you buy why don't you arrange a second visit to hear what the Rega is like with a better cart'. I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised.

I moved up from a Planar 3 to a high end Linn setup but I still couldn't bring myself to get rid of my Rega.

Rega all the way for me.
