Upgrade Arcam Alpha 5 CD

My Alpha 5 needs repairing and depending on the cost may be a time to upgrade. I'm thinking of another Arcam (second hand) such as the 73 which I should be able to pick up for a reasonable price. Any other recommendations please?

Other kit is an Audiolab 8000a, Monitor Audio BR5, QED silver anniversary cable and Chord Chameleon interconnect.

You could google for 'aaa5'. No, I haven't heard one (& don't know your budget) but every comment I've seen has been very positive.

I just bought an Arcam CD 73 for under £200, and I think at that price it's a great player. If you liked your Arcam, I'm sure you'll like the CD 73, too.

Thanks for your replies, the aaa5 is outside my budget but looks interesting. Will look at a CD 73 if the repair is too costly.
