Hello everyone...this is probably a question that will upset some given how much my speakers are worth

I need recommendation - what are the best used amplifiers less than £500

To drive quality, luxury speakers. I will reupgrade when I move back into my big house and have some more money!

I have 2 pairs of speakers that I paid a small fortune for back in the day before mortgage, kids etc.

Downsizing has meant that I have sold some speakers and reciever and need another amplifier.

The speakers I have are:

Sony SS-AL5MK2 - which I paid £1300, you can find more information about the these online quite easily like on that vintage site (these were purchased in 2003).

I also have 5 way Sony SS-X9EDs floorstanders which cost over £1000 for the pair (think I got a significant discount on these at the time)

Both have extended high definition tweeters.

I have £200 to spare on a second hand amplifier.... what should I go for.

The amplifier I have driving the SS-X9EDs is a TA-F3000ES.... however I could do an amplifier swap.

The amplifer itself would be for a bedroom and as such volume is not need... just super quality.

I don't care about age or anything like that!

hi mate ..lush speakers...i was looking on the bay the other night and saw a marantz pm17 for 350 which in its day was 1300 which might be worth looking at

Thanks - will take a look thats really useful.

Yes the AL5 MK2's are amazing speakers... to my ears the best bookshelves I've ever heard.

Heard better floorstanders than the X9's though - but only at simaler price levels or higher.

Thanks... always preferred the look of the AL5mk2s - they are a joy to own! Designed by Italians (arflex) they look the boss on partingtons!

Can't find the pm17... needless to say I have extended my budget to £500

Any thoughts?
