I AM STRUGGLING TO DECIDE BETWEEN SONY KDL40EX503 AND THE PANASONIC TXP42G20. I HAVE SEEN THE PANASONIC IN COSTCO FOR £822 INCLUDING VAT AND 5 YEAR WARRANTY, THE SONY IS £899 WITH 5 YEAR WARRANTY. THE TV WILL BE USED MAINLY FOR SD VIEWING BUT ALSO FOR BLURAY AND OCCASIONAL GAMES. HELP?

I've never seen the Sony, but having recently bought the G20 (for more than the price you mention!) I can recommend it unreservedly. Wonderful TV with a picture that matched the Philips 9664 when I compared them in the shop (granted this was nothing like a 'whathifi' review!)

That said the Sony beats the G20 in the latest WH group test.

Nice choice to have - go see them both in action, it's the only way to make an informed decision matey!

Buy the panasonic.............thats all i need to say.

SD viewing is more stable on plasma plus you get an extra 2" screen, I game alot and when im playing COD the plasma contrast in really dark areas I find are better, but in saying that the sony's bluray picture just edge's it.

Drizztdan..... Id buy the sony over the samsung, IMO the 100Hz on the samsung is suspect (bit error rate) plus you get freeview HD with the sony.
