Two Sony`s at the same price,which one should I choose?

Hi

Can I have some opinions’ please?

I am buying a TV for my elderly mother and nearly settled on the Sony KDL 40EX503 (What Hi Fi TV Product of the Year) best price around £600 but on looking around I found the Sony KDL-40NX713 available from RGB direct also at £600.

My mother will never use the 3D capability, simply wanting a TV that has a great picture, Freeview HD and a decent sound. The original price of the KDL-40NX713 was £1020 so this seems a great deal, maybe it is an older model?

I would appreciate any views.

The 713 is a newer model then the 503 and is higher up the range, should be better in practically all respects...
