TV stands

I've just bought a Panasonic L32DT30 which I'm very pleased with, but the stand it comes with does not pivot at all. With our current TV (a Philips CRT) and a Philips 9705 which I bought before returning it, it is easy to swing the TV round to watch it whilst eating.

Do most TV sets not have moving stands? Just a cost-cutting exercise by the manufacturers?

Be interested in any thoughts people may have

Are you sure it doesn't, on mine the base is square & looks like it doesn't but it actually does rotate, according to the specs on panasonic's website it should rotate +- 15 degrees.

Hmm, I'll have another look tonight. I was pretty sure it didn't move but maybe it's stiff.

Simon, you're right - it took a bit of a twist to get it to move initially but then it was fine - I obviously didn't try it hard enough to start with.
