TV Mains Cable Replacement

I think it's like SLR cameras with image stabilisation features. You can either have the image stabilisation built into the lenses (& so you need the image stabilisation feature for all the lenses you buy.......just like mains cables) or have the image stabilisation built into the camera body itself (& so all lenses connected to the camera body benefit from it obviating the use of lenses with image stabilisation feature...........just like the Belkin or the Tacima CS929).

bigboss:If these mains cables only filter the Electro Magnetic and Radio Frequency Interference, why not go for this which is a lot cheaper, can connect multiple devices & also offer surge protection?

Hi bigboss

or even Wilkinson stores mains extension blocks. These are just fine

Unless you have a sound system worth thousands of pounds ... forget about thinking it will make ANY difference friend.... most cables do not offer so much of a difference that the human ear can notice on a system subject to price OF the set-up that you own ... unless like I've said .... that you have a system costing plenty so that the minimal difference is even noticeable.

Loads of people i would imagine have spent a pretty penny (so to speak) on equipment hoping to hear a big difference ... which isn't even there and some convince themselves that that difference IS there only to please themselves because they spent so much to begin with. Sad but true.

Not this old cockroach again, yes mains cables are great! --- No they are not you will not see or hear no difference. If you have really brought a good quality mains cable and you can not tell the difference then fair an enough, but if you never tested one and just saying its no good then what's the point.

To me the best reply on here as to be this:

FrankHarveyHiFi:

I would *** to your local dealer - I'm sure if they're a friendly bunch they'll have one or two you can try out with your own TV at home - that's the only way you'll be able to find out what difference it will make. Don't try them in the store - you'll need to try it on your TV, in your house, on your mains, in your TV plug socket.

If you don't like the effect it has, take them back. If you feel it's worthwhile for the outlay, go for it!

That says it all!

Hi Alantrigger

With using after market mains products i would have thought there would be less (if there is to be one) of a positive difference or no difference at all with expensive components as their power supplies etc. should be of a higher design than those used in components of lesser cost.

Thanks

As I understand it, they actually use more inferior products these days, cheaper caps etc, to keep prices down
