Hi,

I've been offered a pioneer pl-225 turntable but it doesn't have a
standard plug on it. I'm guessing the plug it has is designed
to plug into a pioneer amp/hi-fi system.

On the box it says 220-240V 50/60Hz and the unit has the double insulation
symbol (a square inside another square) on the back.

Can I just cut off the plug and fit a standard 3 pin with live and neutral
connected ?

Thanks
Nick

Hi it looks like it is made to connect into the 240v output from an amp so when you swich the amp on it powers up the tt it was common on hi from japan in the 70s so I would cut it off and fit a standard 13a plug top with a 3a fuse brown is live blue is nuetral if colours are different post again and I will find out which is which it should not do any harm but it will be swiching the nuetral if incorrect
