Question Transmit phono to wireless speakers

Hi!


I have a Thorens TD160 super and until recently have had it set up with a Denon PMA-520ae amp with output to Mordaunt-Short festival series 2 speakers. This set up worked great however sadly I no longer have the space for these classic (but bulky) speakers. I have purchased a soundbar (primarily for TV output) but due to room configuration have no way of connecting the amp to the soundbar by a wired connection. The soundbar receives input by Bluetooth or WiFi so I was thinking a bluetooth transmitter would be my best option. Any advice on this situation (including suggestions as to good BT or WiFi transmitters) would be really appreciated!

P.S. I understand I will lose a lot of what makes records great by sending the signal digitally, but at the moment this is really my only option for listening to my collection

I doubt it will be more of a compromise than using a soundbar instead of proper speakers 😉

Use the tape output of your Denon to feed the line input of a Bluetooth transmitter, which the soundbar can then receive.

Dont! I'm sad enough as it is haha!
Thanks for the advice. The Denon doesn't have a tape output, it has cd, tuner, aux and network. Am I right in assuming aux output should work fine?

Bluetooth is lossy compression.
Better use the WiFi.
If the WiFi input supports UPnP, have a look at WiiM. Some of their products do have an analog input and convert it to digital.

Has it ever occurred to you that all todays recordings are done "digital". If you have a good ADC, you will simply capture the analog sound perfectly.
