Toshiba Hd Ep 35 multi region

just read on another forum that there is now a firmware update available to make the hd ep 35 region free for standard dvds and then you can upgrade back to the official version 4 firmware and it still works - going to give it a try tonight but thought may be useful to others

I also read that the V4 update improves picture quality.......im of the thinking 'if it aint broke dont fix it' and have never had any jutter/pausing during playback, so im still on firmware 2.0 or something.....could you report back if you noticed any improved picture quality..........

The latest firmware gets rid of "jaggies" rather than jutter or pausing. I have the latest firmware and have had no problems with it.

i must have updated my machine numerous times with no problems at all - if your worried just email toshiba customer service and they will send you the disc by post so you don't have to worry about downloading it and burning it. You do have to send them your seriel number as well

finally got round to doing this tonight and all sorted - from what i have read also a fix for the hd ep30 now - something to do with confusing the machine to believe its the ep35 and then updates no problem - didn't read it all as didn't really effect me - but google for answers
