I just cant work out what I need to do....
I've currently got a Samsung R87 40" LCD wallmounted, with a PS3 tucked underneath. I want to sort out a nice stereo (old one's gone to the bedroom) and Home Cinema experience.
My (new - hence why she gets away with it) wife is very much anti 5.1. At least in our current house. Plus I know she's gonna want everything matching black...
I was thinking of getting the Sony DG820 AV receiver and running the PS3 and TV through that so I can get some decent sound, then buying a decent set of speakers (Roth Audio OLi1) to accompany them. Not sure if the setup would benefit from an sub or not (I said I'm a newbie!) If so, I'd be wanting something as small as possible (with decent performance though).
This might generate cool bluray performance, but is an amp wasted on a 2.0 or 2.1 setup? I might be able to go bigger in a year or so if we moved. Alternatively would I be better just running the PS3 through a stereo system?
Which moves me on to my next question. I want good music performance too. Would the Sony amp above be capable of this, and if so what CD player would people recommend?
I heard the Onkyo 525UK is a decent mini-system and I was thinking I'd get this (I like the Onkyo ipod docks, and have got a itouch I could utilise more). If I got this could it 'share' the speakers with the Sony amp, is that even possible???
Sorry for being a pain, but I need assistance!!!!!
