Hi all, just bought a audiolab 8000cd second hand to go with my old audiolab 8000a, the cd player has optical and co-ax outputs is it worth buying a separate DAC converter to take advantage of these outputs and which one. regards .

Just enjoy your system man!

Have you tried the 'slow' and 'fast' filter settings with the 8000CDs own DAC? Also, try adjusting the height/angle/placement of your speakers relative to the listening position.

You can perform both at your own leisure and at no cost.

Buy a DAC if you want to use other sources too. For example, an Airport Express or computer to stream stuff like Spotify or iTunes. If it's just CDs then enjoy the Audiolab, nice kit.
