Neuphonix said:yes, extreme caution will be key, there's definitely no rush.
They have had them there for a while now so I should be able to go pretty hard on the price & it will only happen if they're willing to do a trade in on the Diablos.
But even then I doubt the funds are going to be available in the near future.
Damm my old man & his "rolling off around 40", he's forever planted that seed of doubt
Will report findings.

Blimey, only the French could come up with that! :O

So if the 35P is not up to the job then they will not even be considered.
It should be OK though? Surely if the 35i can drive your Kefs Ok the 35p should manage the Scalas?
I know the AMS50 would have been more ideal but thats just getting plain ridiculous!

I'm almost certain that your ears weren't fooling you......you have heard too much good kit for that to happen. At this stage your standard is sky high, otherwise you would have enjoyed the first demo of the DS.
The speakers you end up with should be the right ones, given the big variety you have listened to. For me personally, I think it's a shame that neither you nor Rob have heard the Refs on the end of an AMS (with a DS), but I suspect you both have found what you've been looking for.

Thank you....I usually check it, but didn't for some reason.

DocG said:Hi Cno,
When you say: a CDP with DAC, do you mean it's a transport + DAC, or can it be used as a DAC for other sources (i.e. does it have digital inputs)? Can't find the info right away on tinternet...
That's what holds me back from the Linn-route, at the moment: if you want a DS with a digital in, you need a DSM, with integrated pre+power amp (which I won't need) :wall: . Unless I misunderstand? :?
