Yesterday I got my Marantz PM8003! What a big improvement to the Sony amp I had borrowed until I got mine. Much better grip on my DALI Lektor 6's and thus a more coherent sound.

Am I just imagining it or does the amp actually the ifluence timing in music? At least it seems so. Suddenly I seem to be listening to better musicians.

Next up is the CD6003 which I'll be picking up later today. Expecting great things as I've been using a CD writer deck for listening the past month or so.

Thank god for this forum

grats.. and yes of course the amp affects the timing of the music. The more wimpy and lacklustre the amplifier is, the more wimpy and lacklustre the timing will be.

The amp is what controls the drive units in the speaker so, yes, it has a massive influence on timing and indeed the overall sound.

Glad you are pleased with the new amp. The Marantz kit is excellent. Let us know how you get on with the CD player when it arrives.

Enjoy!
