test review of Silent Angel Rhein Z1

Hi,

I’m reading this test review of Silent Angel Rhein Z1: https://www.whathifi.com/reviews/silent-angel-rhein-z1-v2. Is it possible the mentioned noise comes from the external switch-mode power supply? This power adapter is not compatible with HIFI demand.
In your opinion I guess. If it wasn't suitable I doubt Silent Angel would ship it.
NOTE: it says noise "with certain DACs" so nothing to do with power supply .

It is conceivable, but there’s no inherent problem with SMPS as sometimes is believed. There are better linear power supplies and less good ones too.

The review is three years old, and I see there’s even costlier Plus model now. However, the noise caution would put me right off, as two grand is a lot for a box without a DAC. It seems to be a glorified PC in a fancy box, but I’d rather buy a complete streamer, or use a computer as a Roon server. It’s not as though there aren’t hundreds of alternatives for streaming.

I want the top-end, bit-perfect audio performance, but after years of carefully managing my digital audio files, filling their ID3 tags with useful indexing information
Top-end bit perfect but using ID3 (the tagging standard for MP3)?????
Looks like this reviewer is as clueless about the noise too.
