Christian Bale did turn down the role on many occasions apparently. They kept re-writing it and then trying to get him to do it again. He said he finally decided to do it because he felt they got a decent story and screen play. ( or they finally offered him hell loads of cash). And yeah why didnt the terminators just kill Mr Reese.

Well from what I gathered, if they simply killed him, they would have had no carrot to dangle in front of John Conncor, to lure him out.

It was a bit week story wise but OMG, what a sound track, the best I have ever heard, and the blu ray knocked spots off the audio when I saw it at the pictures.

The house has moved by 6 inches I am sure, but the detail was also spot on.
