TEAC and their U.K. agents have been useless!!
can anyone advise where to source or fabricate?

Yes, it uses a common 12volt, 500mA (Centre positive) PSU.
Nothing special.
Take your pick, Amazon and e-bay have got loads of them.

A 1 amp type would be more than good enough and less than £10 (spend more if you want to splash out).
