If you need speakers that work well close to the wall then you must try a used pair of pmc twenty 21's.....not huge on bass but what there is....is fast,punchy and tight.....with the recent release of the twenty 5 range you should be able to bag a pair for around a grand...but do try and audition with the cyrus amp first.

I can vouch that Cyrus amps and PMC twenty.22 work well. The forward facing ATL port is what makes the twenty.20 seriers easy to place near walls given that you place them closer to a wall if you want more bass and vice-versa.
