Hi all, question on behalf of a collegue of mine at work.

He has just bought Samsung series 7 LED tv 40", samsung blu-ray player and samsung 1 box home cinema set up.

Surround sound wise obviously any discs (CD, DVD etc) played on the one box DVD receiver will play audio through the speakers and sub, but are there a set of connections that can be made so that blu-ray discs put on the blu-ray machine can be played through the speakers?

Then also for standard TV audio to be played through the said speakers.

Many thanks

If the Samsung system has digital inputs, then you can connect sound from the BD player into it, but you'll only get regular Dolby Digital/DTS, not the HD variants. If the system only has an aux line-audio input you can use that, but you'll only get stereo, although the system should be able Pro-Logic this into surround.

Similarly, if the TV has a digital audio out - and the Samsung system has more than one digital in - you can use this for sound, or again you can take the analogue route.
