SUHD vs UHD, is it worth me paying from a JU7500 to JS8500?

Hey

I have been offered an exchange as my 55ES8000 died and they cannot fix. So they offered me a 55JU7500.

I thought that was a great offer and I accepted, but awaiting delivery.

Is it worth paying the extra £300.00 to get the 8500?

Thanks so much

Not in my opinion. I attended a TV shootout last year, where we compared the 7500 and 8500, amongst others.

Check my thoughts here (scroll down a bit):

I knew a fair bit about most models in Samsung's 2014 range, but I'm not clear about the 2015 models. In particular, I've not yet seen any reviews of the JU7500 or JS8500 televisions. So I cannot advise. I will say though, that if one model is flat and the other is curved then, most other things being equal, I would go for the flat one, especially at a screen size of only 55 inches.

Canada16, if you've not yet done so, you might like to compare the specifications of the various models listed on the Samsung website, here http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/tv-audio-video/televisions/ Make sure that you get the full range, there are 30 curved models and 58 flat ones! You might need to click on the "View more" link at the bottom of the first few flat televisons in order to see all 58 flat ones.

That was a useful SUHD link, simonlewis, thanks! It also contains other useful links within it. *acute*. For instance, I wasn't fully aware that Sony's Triluminous is essentially the same as other manufacturer's Quantum Dots or Nano-crystals!

Well thats interesting you would chose the JU7500 over the JS8500

I just went to JL at lunch and to be honest I cant see a £300.00 difference in the TV's

Will stick with the JU7500, I am just happy they changed by 3 year old ES8000 with a Nice new 4K TV.

Should be better picture quality than mine, but will not be able to play with it as I am off to portugal the day after it arrives.

Shame I will be thinking of my TV while on holidays lol

But hooking up my new SVS PB2000 tonight, as it just arrived from Lsounds last night.

I'm not clear whom you mean by "you". Looking back in this thread, I can't see who said that they preferred the JU7500 to the JS8500. There's been a bit of uncertainly in this thread about whether the 7500 series is prefixed JU or JS, which doesn't help, I'm as guilty of that also, sorry. Did you go to the Samsung website, by the way?

I think canada 16 means bb but bb was talking about the 2014 HU tvs and we are discussing the 2015 JU & JS tvs.
