Soon I will be having a reshuffle of furniture to accomodate a new settee and my sub will have to be moved. The only two realistic places it can go are:-

1. In the bay window - suspetc better sound, but......young kids and all would prefer for it to be out of the way.

2. Behind TV.............now, this brings me to my questions, my sub is sat on a granite plinth, is there a minimum distance a sub has to be away from Blu Ray Players?

Also my sub can either fire forwards or down, I suspect I would be better firing down in this scenario, any views?

I'm no expert, but in theory, it may have an effect.

I think vibrations transmitted through the floor/rack would be worse, so having the sub firing forward may be better than firing down.

And isolating the player (on cones, squash balls etc) to dampen any transmitted vibrations would be a good idea.

Thanks electroman. Not an ideal solution I know.

Firing downwards vibration into structure possibly into equipment

Firing forwards possible booming as in corner and firing straight "at" back of BRP

May invest in a couple of squash balls and furniture castor cups :)

Stick it in the bay window and lay a few rolls of barb wire around it.

On a serious note. I think I'd try to minimise the vibrations as much as possible, then try watching a film with the sub off, then on, and see if it has a detrimental effect.
